McWherter Institute to host annual Igniting Innovation event April 20

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin’s Ned Ray McWherter Institute will host its fourth-annual Igniting Innovation event beginning at 7 p.m., April 20, in the Boling University Center’s Duncan Ballroom. The community is invited to attend.
Dr. Julie Hill, professor and chair of the UT Martin Department of Music, and John Sellers, founder and CEO of the international Letters in Motion campaign and the Fernweh Fox studio in Martin, will serve as the evening’s featured speakers. Hill is an award-winning musician and has performed both domestically and internationally in solo events and as part of multiple ensembles. Sellers is a young entrepreneur and a former McWherter Institute participant. Both speakers will discuss the ability to achieve great goals from humble beginnings.
The McWherter Institute is a program designed to expose selected students to unique opportunities including both domestic and international travel, business networking events, personal promotion training and entrepreneurial instruction.
The event is free and open to the public.
