5.4          Final Exam Schedules

Examinations are held at the end of each semester.  Times are listed in the course schedule.  Adjunct faculty should talk with the department chair to obtain specific departmental requirements for final exams and to determine other factors, such as mass exams, that may impact the final exam for a course.

The schedule for final exams appears in the printed schedule and is based upon the scheduled meeting time for a class.  A sample of a final exam schedule appears in Appendix F.

Mass exam periods are scheduled for some classes and will be designed by course number rather than meeting time.  When a mass exam has been scheduled, an instructor may NOT give the test at the regularly scheduled time if the class begins at 4:00 p.m. or earlier.  The instructor will decide on the seating arrangement for the mass exams.  All other final exams will be given in the regularly scheduled classroom.

Final exams for physical education basic activity courses will be given during the last regularly scheduled class meeting.

Faculty teaching courses with separate laboratory exams will give laboratory exams during the last regularly scheduled laboratory meeting.

Variations from this schedule must have the approval of the instructor, departmental chair, and dean.
