Academic departments and chairs are responsible for textbooks and course materials for all faculty. Many departments use a standard text for general education courses and will order desk copies for all faculty. The departmental secretary can assist faculty in obtaining a copy.
Some departments require adjunct faculty to acknowledge compliance with the official course syllabus and use of the textbook in writing each semester on a form supplied to them. Other informational items will be included on the form, such as the hours of operation of the UT Martin bookstore, library, and other pertinent information that should be reported to the students. The adjunct faculty member keeps one copy of this form, and one copy is signed and returned to the appropriate department chair.
All adjunct faculty are encouraged to maintain ongoing communications with their respective department chair. The departmental secretary should be contacted if any course materials are not received.
