300 Athletic Training Techniques (3) Development of a basic understanding of the prevention, immediate care, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Taping lab included. Prereq: Biol 110 and Biol 120 or Zool 201 or Health 320.

320 Advanced First Aid and CPR (3) Procedures for emergency care and accident prevention. ARC certification in Advanced First Aid and CPR available.

35- Topics: [Selected Areas] (2) Topics in contemporary health issues. The subject matter is indicated by the third digit: 1 for substance abuse, 2 for environmental concerns, 3 for human sexuality, and 4 for aging populations. May enroll in one or more selected areas.

400 (600) Advanced Athletic Training (3) Advanced techniques and application in the prevention, immediate care, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Lab included. Prereq: Health 300, junior level standing, or Instructor's approval.

405 (605) Athletic Training Internship (3) Internship under the direct supervision of a Certified Athletic Trainer designed to provide the student with on-hands involvement in the prevention, immediate care, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Prereq: 400 clinical hours, Health 300, and instructor's approval.

415 Consumer Health (3) Examines health related consumer issues including evaluation of health products and services with regard to the needs of the individual, community, and schools.

440 (640) Epidemiology (3) Epidemiological modes and methods of selected diseases of specific concern in the public and private sectors.

475 Health Methods (3) Introduction to a variety of methods and materials that can be utilized in teaching health content. Also, emphasis on the writing of goals and objectives, the design of unit plans and lesson plans, and the construction of evaluation instruments. Prereq: Admission to Teacher Education.

485 (685) Workshop in Health: [Title of Workshop] (3) Workshop on selected topics. No more than six hours workshop credit may be applied to an undergraduate or graduate degree in education. Prereq: instructor's approval.

775 School Health Methods (3) Review of methods and materials available for utilization in teaching health. Designed to provide additional strategies for health instruction through examination of current health literature, characteristics of effective teaching, and techniques for planning and implementing effective programs in health.
