Students may select appropriate specialization electives with the advisor's consent to provide enhanced understanding of concepts of general administration, industrial management, and personnel and human resources management. A special concentration is available in administrative data systems which may replace the specialization electives.

MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS CONCENTRATION

The Management Information Systems (MIS) concentration within the Management major provides students with both a general knowledge of business management and a specialized technical knowledge of information systems. Students are exposed to the theory and practical application of numerous business information systems areas including management information systems, database management systems, design and development of business information systems, and telecommunications and networking. The program is designed to prepare students for information systems careers in government, nonprofit, business and industry. A concentration in management information systems may be completed by taking courses as designated in the following summary. These courses replace the general education non-business electives, and the management and free electives in the Management major.
