The University Scholars Organization
The University Scholars Organization, or USO, is a student-run organization which provides an opportunity for student involvement in the administration of the University Scholars Program. The USO is also involved in the academic, intellectual, and cultural atmosphere of UT-Martin as a whole. Each year, Scholars classes elect officers to represent them in the University Scholars Organization leadership. Several committees within the organization provide various social and service opportunities that also help students to meet Scholars Program requirements.
All University Scholars are required to be members of the organization, and all first through third year Scholars are required to attend all of the USO's meetings each year unless excused by the Honors Programs Director. (Fourth years are required to attend half of all meetings unless excused.) Scholars must participate in at least one of the USO's various committees.
