The Home Economics, Education, and Nursing Building was completed in 1974. It
was officially renamed September 9, 1976, to memorialize Cecil M. and Boyce A. Gooch,
major contributors to the University. Gooch Hall consists of 118,288 square feet and
contains a 182 seat auditorium and numerous classrooms and offices. At present, it
houses the offices and classrooms of the Educational Studies and Education Administration
programs, Communications Department, the Human Environmental Sciences Department, and the
Nursing Department. It also serves as office space for the Center of Environmental and
Conservation Education, the Center of Excellence for Science and Mathematics Education,
the Continuing Education, Evening School, and Public Service Department and Continuing
Education, and Public Service program, and the State Department of Education. |
