EZproxy
Information & Troubleshooting
EZproxy
is a new service that handles logging in off-campus users
to Paul Meek Library's databases. If you are experiencing
difficulties accessing databases from off-campus that
use EZproxy to log you in, please check the following:
|
Only
currently enrolled students, faculty and staff
may access these resources from off campus due to
licensing restrictions. If you are not one of the
above (for example, an alumnus, a non-university borrower),
you are welcome to use these resources in the library,
but we cannot grant off-campus access.

Are
you typing in your lab login and password correctly?
Please note that faculty and staff must use their
faculty domain login and password to access the database
from off-campus. Call
the ITC Help Desk - 731-881-7900.
|
 |
Are you trying to access a database directly from the catalog? Due to the way the user authentication works, all database items must be accessed from the Electronic Databases page.
|
 |
Are
you in the student database? (If you've recently
logged into one of the computer labs you probably
are.) Most students are automatically added at the
beginning of each semester. If you're not sure if
you are in the patron database, Call
the ITC Help Desk - 731-881-7900.

Are
you using AOL, Earthlink or Walmart? There
are known problems with using the AOL, Earthlink or
Walmart browser. You can use company supported browsers
to connect to the Internet, but once connected use
either Netscape or Internet Explorer to connect to
our databases.

 |
Do
you have a personal firewall installed on your PC?
Personal firewalls can sometimes cause problems with
EZproxy. Temporarily disable the firewall and see
if that allows you to connect properly.
|
Have
you accesed the databases from off campus before June
1, 2004. If so you will need to remove the library proxy
settings on your browser. (Click
here for instructions if needed.)
If
after working through this list you are still experiencing
problems logging in, please call the Help Desk at 731-881-7900.
You
may send a request for help by filling out a Report Problem
