| Brief History: | To meet growing enrollments
the Hall-Moody Institute began construction of a
men's dormitory in 1921. It was completed later the same year and named the Lovelace Home
for Young Men in honor of W. N. Lovelace who donated the land where the building once stood.
When the University of Tennessee purchased the Hall-Moody Institute it was renamed Freeman
Hall and was primarily used as a men's dorm from 1921 to 1975. The building was demolished
for newer facilities in the summer of 1975. |
