| Brief History: | During the post-war enrollment
boom temporary dormitories and housing
developments were rapidly assembled from materials reserved for military barracks once located
at nearby Camp Tyson. The largest of those buildings became the Student Activities and
R.O.T.C. Building which was completed in 1947. The building served in that capacity until the
new Student Center was completed in 1965. After that date, the R.O.T.C. / Military Science
Department assumed control of the facility. The R.O.T.C. program relocated in 1987 to the new
R.O.T.C. Building and the following year the old R.O.T.C. building was demolished.
