About Documents Holdings The Paul Meek Library is a selective depository of approximately 100,000 U.S. government documents. These documents can cover any topic which might possibly concern the American people and can be in a variety of material types (e.g. pamphlets, maps, newsletters, scholarly publications) and may be in paper, microform, or electronic format In our library, most of these documents are classified by the Superintendent of Documents Classification which arranges publications together by individual agency or department and by type of publication. Some documents are included in the library's online catalog, but many more are not. To locate those not in the online catalog you will need to use the Monthly Catalog of U.S. Government Publications. The Monthly Catalog of U.S. Government Publications is an index of U.S. government documents. Our collection of documents began in 1957 when we became a depository, though we do have a few older documents. Our Monthly Catalog begins in
Tennessee State Documents: Most Tennessee state documents are cataloged and included on the Online catalog, but a few documents are kept in a separate collection. Ask about these in the Documents Department. Agricultural Experiment and Extension Publications: This is a limited collection with documents from Tennessee going back to the early l900's and more recent publications from some of the other states.
