Book Loan Policy

Materials held in the Paul Meek Library are available for loan. Search the Paul Meek Library Catalog to find what you need. Borrowers are responsible for all materials. FEES will be assessed for overdue, lost, or damaged items. Unreturned items and unpaid fees will result in holds on registration and transcripts.

Materials available for loan:

  • Books
  • Government Documents
  • ERIC Documents
  • Books in the Paul Meek Library Juvenile and Juvenile Easy Collection are only available to students whose classes require access to a children's literature collection.

The following materials are not available for loan:

  • Reference Books
  • Reserve collections
  • Special Collections & Archives
  • UTM Theses & Dissertations
  • Maps
  • Journals
  • Any material whose status is "Non-circulating"
  • Audio/Video Collections

Loan Periods

  • Faculty may borrow materials until that specific term ends.
  • Staff may borrow materials for 3 WEEKS.
  • Graduate Students for 4 WEEKS.
  • Undergraduate students for 3 WEEKS.
  • LRC Material is not available for Distance Education Students.

Renewal Options

  • Call 731-881-7092
  • Use the web catalog.

    Materials may be renewed up to 3 times. The renewal period will be the same as the original loan period. Materials requested either by other users or are needed for reserve will not be renewed.

Overdue Fees

  • 1-4 days overdue: No fee (grace period)
  • 5th day overdue: $ 1.00
  • Each day thereafter: $ .20
  • Maximum fee: $10.00
  • Replacement Fee: book cost, plus $10 processing, plus all accumulated overdue fees.
