SOAR (Summer Orientation and Registration) is a 1-day orientation experience that is designed to introduce you to the university and ease your transition into college life. During the program, you will learn about UT Martin’s curriculum and campus resources, register for summer and/or fall classes, meet faculty and advisers, and begin to develop lifelong friendships with other new students. SOAR is a mandatory event for all incoming freshmen to attend.
Check-in for SOAR starts at 8 a.m. in the Boling University Center, and the session ends between 2-4 p.m. depending on how much time is spent with academic advisors. Please see the links below for the SOAR schedules for both students and parents and families. A printed copy of the schedules will be distributed at SOAR Check-in.
You will need to have access to your UT Martin portal information in order to register for SOAR. To find your username and password, click here. The steps to find the online registration form are listed below.
*In order to receive a refund on your SOAR payment, you must notify the Office of Admissions two weeks prior to your SOAR date that you no longer wish to attend.

The student must attend SOAR in order to register for classes for the fall semester. Parents/guardians are strongly encouraged to attend.

No tuition and fees will not be due until August.
Before attending SOAR, we encourage you to upload a clear, current, quality photo of yourself at www.utm.edu/idcardrequest. This will allow you to not have to wait in the photo line at SOAR, and your ID will be in your student folder upon arrival. Photos will be taken at SOAR for those who do not get a chance to upload their photo.
SOAR will be held at the Boling University Center on UTM’s campus. The GPS address for the building is 61 Mt. Pelia Road, Martin, TN.

Yes, you must be admitted to UT Martin to attend SOAR.
State law requires completed immunization records to be on file in Student Health & Counseling Services prior to the start of fall classes. Visit the SHCS Web site for Immunization submission information.
