Economics
If you're interested in a career in international business,
general business or economics, you need to check out UT
Martin's major in economics.
A major in economics offers students a solid foundation
in economic theory and application while providing a diverse
background in business administration. Students in our
economics program have classes in all areas of business
- economics, accounting, marketing, management, finance,
computer technology, business law and international business.
The economics option develops students' quantitative skills
and affords them the flexibility to study a wide variety
of liberal arts subjects as well. Students who pursue
this option are very well prepared to assume positions
in banking, management, financial management and various
government positions. The economics option also prepares
students to enter graduate studies or law school.
In addition to the pure economics major, you can
choose a concentration in either finance or international business.

Political Science
Political science majors offer students a wide range
of career opportunities. The majors particularly prepare
students for further education at the graduate level where
they can specialize in a variety of sub-fields. They are
excellent majors for students interested in attending
law school or seeking government employment upon graduation.
Additional information on career opportunities and current
careers of departmental alumni is available upon request.
Political Science majors must satisfy the general education
requirements for the appropriate Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor
of Science degree. A minor is required in both degrees.
There are two B.A. degree or B.S. degree concentrations
