- A groundbreaking ceremony, Feb. 8, in Parsons, marked the start of the new UT Martin/Parsons Center. The 19,000-square-foot technologically advanced facility, expected to open in spring 2009, is a joint project of the City of Parsons and Decatur County. Toston, Central Connecticut State University vice president for student affairs, was named by Dr. Tom Rakes, UT Martin chancellor, following the completion of a national search and from a field of 32 applicants.
