- The University of Tennessee at Martin continues to set all-time enrollment records, claiming the largest percentage increase among Tennessee four-year public universities in preliminary fall reporting. - The Office of International Science and Education Program of the U.S. Department of Agriculture recently announced that the University of Tennessee at Martin has been awarded $99,999 for a Global Agriculture Leadership Incubator Project (GALIP). - Many intercollegiate sports teams never achieve a top-20 national ranking. Such is not the case for the UT Martin collegiate bass anglers team. Since forming two years ago, the team has received national attention, including a top-20 national ranking in fall 2007 and a 15th place finish at the Under Armour College Bass National Championship, July 9-11, at Lake Maumelle in Little Rock, Ark. Now recognized as a sport club by the university and supported by commercial sponsors, the bass anglers team is positioned to remain competitive in the world of college bass fishing. - If you have a son or daughter considering college, have they considered UT Martin?
The first of two preview days is set for Oct. 18 at the University of Tennessee at Martin. Preview days are opportunities for high school seniors and their families to visit and learn about the university. Each event is designed to enable future college students to become familiar with the Martin campus and to get that all-important first impression of university life. A second day is planned Nov. 15.

- UT Martin vs. Auburn- Your Skyhawks will travel to Auburn University on Saturday, November 8, to play football and you are invited! The Office of Alumni Relations and UT Martin Athletics will host alumni and friends at a tailgate party three hours prior to kick-off. More information will be posteed on the alumni website closer to time.
- UT Martin vs UT Knoxville Men's Basketball Game and Alumni Reception - Tuesday, November 19
Knoxville area UTM alumni are invite to join Dr. Tom Rakes and others from UT Martin at the residence of UT President John Petersen and his wife, Carol, for a pre-game reception. Invitiations will be mailed closer to event time.
