How your investment will impact UT Martin's...

Extended Campus and Continiuing Education

UT Martin's Office of Extended Campus and Continuing Education offers extended campus degree and non-degree programs via traditional lecture classes, distance learning, and online courses. Educational opportunities are provided at various off-campus locations, including Jackson , Paris , Ripley, Dickson, Camden , Selmer, and the East Tennessee area. These undergraduate classes and, in some cases, master's level programs, accommodate working adults and other part-time students. Financial support is needed for non-traditional students, adult learners, and dual-credit high school students seeking educational programs/courses. Private gifts for scholarships, program enhancements, student services support, and equipment/facilities improvements can “inspire a desire to inquire” and will make educational opportunities available to those who might not otherwise attend college in the traditional classroom setting.

UT Online

UT New College was developed in 2000 and is devoted to delivering high-quality online courses and degrees via the Internet. Coupling online delivery with a new flexible degree, the Bachelor of University Studies, this program attracts many non-traditional students who dropped out of the university in the past. This is one of the most innovative programs at UT Martin. It offers students access to the university from their homes at times that are convenient to working adults. In its infancy, this program grew rapidly based on grants; but since then the availability of such funding has ceased. In addition, most of the students in this program are not eligible for scholarships. This program needs funding to help develop new courses to be offered online. Additionally, there is a strong need for scholarships for non-traditional undergraduate students in the online environment.
