November 11, 2008 The latest private gift of support for the new UT Martin Parsons Center is from Ricky and Lee Volner of Volner Sawmill & Lumber Company. A commitment of $50,000 was pledged in memory of Ricky's parents, Herbert and Imogene Volner, for the student lounge area. Funds will be used for the construction for the 19,000 square foot facility to be located on Highway 641, Tennessee Avenue North and to be open spring 2009. I am not an alumnus of The University of Tennessee, nor a native of Decatur County; but I see the value in what this educational facility will do for our community, and we are proud to be contributors in making this exciting opportunity possible.
