Skyhawk Marching Band - Invitational

General Contest Information

The 2009 Skyhawk Marching Band Invitational will feature high school marching bands from Kentucky, Mississippi, and Tennessee, in competition before a panel of expert adjudicators at UT Martin’s Graham Stadium.

Gates will open at approximately 12:00pm on Saturday, September 19, 2009, with the first band performing at 12:45pm. The contest will conclude at approximately 10:00pm, following an exhibition performance by the UTM Skyhawk Marching Band and an Awards Ceremony.

The bands will present a wide-variety of styles, including everything from Classical music and original compositions to Broadway musicals and rock and roll.

The admission will be $8.00 for audience members ages 12 to adult (includes contest program); $4.00 for those ages 5-11; and free for children age 4 and younger.

Spectators will witness bands of all sizes, from approximately 25 members to 250+.

2009 SMBI Final Schedule

The Master Schedule will be provided to the directors in an email “packet.”  However, each band warm-up time will be scheduled for approximately 45 minutes before the scheduled performance time (for example, Lexington’s official warm-up time would be 12:00pm).
