Dietetics

A career in dietetics means applying scientific knowledge, leading and motivating people, and managing changes daily. If you want to use your wit and wisdom, you will enjoy being a Dietitian!

Program
 

The Dietetics curriculum includes courses in:
 
+ nutrition
+ food science
+ food systems management
+ business administration
+ liberal arts

 

Science courses are especially important in developing your knowledge base. The curriculum is approved by the American Dietetic Association. Students who intend to become registered/licensed dietitians must expect to continue their work with an approved clinical experience after graduation.

 

Dietetics students learn about:

+ management of food services
+ team work with physicians, nurses, and other health-care associates
+ counseling clients in hospitals, clinics, and wellness programs.

Career placements are available in different settings. Wherever persons gather for socializing, medical treatment, physical fitness, rehabilitation, or education, dietetics graduates provide professional services.

Career Opportunities

Food is a part of everyday life, and dining reflects choice. Therefore, dietitians will find challenges and creativity in careers of many kinds. Careers associated with food and nutrition and positions in dietetics are available nationwide and year-round.
