Intramural Indoor Soccer Tournament Rules
I. Eligibility:
1. Tournament is open to males and females.
2. All players must be current UTM students.
II. Game Play:
1. Five versus Five game play. Seven players per team per game. A team can have as many players on a team as they want but can only have seven signed up to play in any game.
2. No Goalies, unless shootout is required at end of three minute overtime. A shot line will be established and players and the ball must be completely across the line for shot to count. Offensive players will not be allowed to cross the defensive line to retrieve balls.
3. Two ten minute halves will be played with a five minute halftime. Time will only stop for injuries.
4. If a game is tied at the end of the two halves a three minute overtime period will be played, if at the end of overtime the game is still tied a three person shootout with goalies will take place. Any three players from the seven signed up for the game can shoot and any of the seven are eligible to play goalie.
5. No slide tackling of any kind will be legal.
6. Two divisions of four teams will be set up for round robin play and all teams will play three games. After all teams have played three games the top team from each division will move onto the final game to decide the champion.
7. A dead ball consists of the ball leaving the court or after a team has scored.
8. Halves will start with possession from a teams own goal. Out of play balls will be played from the spot the ball left the court. After a team scores the opposing team will attain possession from their own goal and play will resume after the first pass is completed.
9. Substitutions will be allowed only on dead balls.
