Outdoor Equipment Rental

Use our equipment when planning your own trip. The outdoor equipment rental shop includes all the equipment one needs for a weekend getaway. All equipment is of high quality and is available for a nominal fee. Rental Policies

1. Reservations must be made a minimum of 24 hours in advance with payment and completed contract. Outdoor equipment is only available to UT Martin students, faculty, and staff.
2. Refunds are given only if reservations are cancelled two working days in advance.
3. All rented equipment will be available for pick-up Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. No equipment will be available for pick-up or return on Saturday or Sunday.
4. All rented equipment will be returned to the Campus Recreation office by 5:00 pm on the date specified in the contract.
5. Customers will be charged a $5.00 late fee for each day in which equipment is not returned according to the due date stated in the contract.
6. All equipment must be returned in clean and dry condition or a fee will be charged to have it cleaned or dried.

                        Wet equipment – additional $5.00
                        Excessively dirty (trash, organic and/or paper) – additional $5.00

7. All equipment will be returned in the condition in which it was received or customers will be charged a fee to have it fixed or

   replaced. The present market value of the equipment will be charged for lost or seriously damaged equipment.

8. Customers need to understand that it may not be possible to have equipment inspected until the day after it is returned.

    Customers are responsible for all problems and charges found by the inspector at time of inspection.

9. Customers must adhere to the following policies if renting a sleeping bag.

                        No smoking in or around equipment.
                        Place the equipment no closer than 45 feet to any flame.
                        Air and dry the equipment before returning.
                        Use the liner for the sleeping bag if not using in a tent.
                        Use the ground cloth/plastic under the tent.

10. Each customer must present a current ID when picking up equipment and must sign a contract of responsibility for all

   equipment rented.
