Dean's Message

Dr. Dickens

As I begin my second (“Sophomore”) year as the Dean of the College of Business and Global Affairs (CBGA), I am reminded that “Sophomore” means “wise fool”. While I know much more about how things work here, I would be foolish to not realize I have much more to learn. I welcome you to join the students and faculty within CBGA in pursuit of learning. Whether you are already enrolled at UT-Martin or finishing high school and considering where to pursue the next step of your life-long training process, you are most welcome. UT-Martin and CBGA emphasize students and student-faculty interaction. This environment should allow you to study where your professors will know your name, provide academic accountability, and help you make a significant start toward your professional life.

The college’s financial support of experiential learning opportunities last year saw CBGA students working the Super Bowl and attending conferences related to their studies in Charlotte, Atlanta, Miami, Chicago, and more. We had several students participate in the Tennessee Intercollegiate State Legislature and serve in government internship positions. The college also supported study abroad opportunities in France and Great Britain. We hope to have more such things to report after the 2014-2015 academic year.

Visit other portions of the college’s web pages or give us a call (731 881-7306) to learn more about CBGA’s majors, minors, and study areas.  We hope you will join the CBGA and Skyhawk families!
