The College of Business and Global Affairs recognized several faculty members for outstanding performance during its annual awards banquet April 11. Dr. Nell Gullett, professor of finance; Dr. Paula Moore, associate professor of accounting and business law; and Dr. Patrick Baker, assistant professor of business law, were all honored for excellence in undergraduate teaching. Dr. Mike McCullough, professor of management; Moore; Dr. Bill Davis, professor of economics; and Dr. Denise Williams, associate professor of information systems, were all recognizes for excellence in graduate teaching. Dr. Ashley Kilburn, professor of marketing, and Dr. Sean Walker, associate professor of management, were both honored for excellence in research. Darlene Adkins, lecturer of accounting, received the Bob Figgins Mentoring Award for Outstanding Service to Students, which is given by the college every two years.
Dr. Mahmoud Haddad, professor of finance, presented a paper titled "Further evidence on hedges and safe avens for GCC markets using a wavelet-based quantile approach: The roles of Islamic stock market and macroeconomics factors" during the 37th annual meeting of the Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance Conference held January 5-8 in Chicago, Ill. Haddad co-authored the paper with Dr. Walid Mensi, University of Tunis El Manar; Dr. Shawkat Hammoudeh, Drexel University; and Dr. Aviral Tiwari, IBS Business School Hyderabad in India.
