Students Attend the IMA Mid-South Memphis Area Chapter Meeting

The UTM College of Business and Global Affairs sponsored 26 accounting and finance students on a trip to Memphis, TN on February 16th. During the trip, the students attended the IMA Mid-South Memphis Area Chapter meeting that featured Jeanette Bennett of the Federal Reserve Bank and was held at the Owens Brennan’s Restaurant. Also in attendance at the IMA meeting were recruiting managers from Robert Half Finance & Accounting who spoke to students individually following the meeting. Ms. Bennett spoke about the Fed and Money and provided the audience, which also included students from Delta State University, with an informative glimpse of the Federal Reserve Bank and its history.


Following the IMA meeting, the students were treated to a panel discussion about working for First Tennessee Bank in the accounting, finance, internal audit, and lending departments at the bank’s Lynnfield location. The panelists discussed their career paths and provided the students with insight on the benefits of working for First Tennessee Bank, as well as, encouraged the students to apply for internships in their chosen disciplines. Darlene Adkins, John Clark, Michelle Dickens, Dr. Richard Griffin, Hurschell Knox, and Jennifer Schlicht accompanied the students.
