| Education Student Services Mission Statement Educational planning is a prerequisite to student success, and the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences is committed to the shared responsibility of faculty, students, and administration toward this goal. The College of Education and Behavioral Sciences maintains an Office of Education Student Services, which serves as a support unit for assisting students and faculty in the areas of advisement and program planning, directed field experiences, student recruitment, student scholarship awards, and certification/licensure requests. Three administrative personnel, two graduate assistants, and an administrative assistant compose the staff of the office.
Quality program planning, based on a unique educational plan for the student, requires dialogue between advisors and students to ascertain goals, needs, and interests. Advising is an opportunity for faculty and staff to articulate the meaning and purpose of a liberal education and assist students in integrating their majors into programs of holistic education.
The College of Education and Behavioral Sciences believes strongly that interaction between faculty, staff, and students is an integral part of professional responsibility. The College values the fostering of positive personal relationships through accessibility, dissemination of specific and accurate information, and a willingness to recommend, challenge, and encourage students to discover answers to their questions.
The Office is located in Gooch Hall, Room 205 and is open from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. daily.
