Admission to Student Teaching
A. Admission to Student Teaching will be granted if student(s):
• Are admitted to the Teacher Education Program.
• Complete the appropriate application one semester in advance of the Student Teaching Semester.
• Have a cumulative 2.75 GPA on all courses taken.
• Have a 2.75 GPA in teaching specialty area.
• Complete a minimum of 80% of course work in the endorsement area(s) including all methods courses.
• Have satisfactory progress on teacher education portfolio.
B. Student Teaching Application Request:
• A Student Teaching Application Request can be obtained from the Office of Education Student Services (205 Gooch).
• The application should be filed in 205 Gooch one (1) semester prior to the semester for student teaching experience.
• A photo must be submitted along with a completed Student Teaching Application Request to the Office of Education Student Services (205 Gooch).
C. Student Teaching Application Request Deadline Dates:
• Spring 2010: Application due Sept. 25, 2009
• Fall 2010: Application due Feb. 5, 2010

D. Student Teaching Dates, Fall 2009
Seminars on Campus: August 24-26, 2009
First Placement: August 31 – October 16, 2009
Second Placement: October 19 - December 11, 2009
Student Teaching Reception: December 9, 2009
Student Teaching Dates, Spring 2010
Seminars on Campus: January 11-13, 2010
First Placement: January 19 - March 5, 2010
Second Placement: March 8 - May 5, 2010
Student Teaching Reception: May 3, 2010
