Admission to Student Teaching
A. Admission to Student Teaching will be granted if student(s):
• Are admitted to the Teacher Education Program.
• Complete the appropriate application one semester in advance of the Student Teaching Semester.
• Have a cumulative 2.75 GPA on all courses taken (effective Fall 2008).
• Have a 2.75 GPA in teaching specialty area (effective Fall 2008).
• Complete a minimum of 80% of course work in the endorsement area(s) including all methods courses.
• Have satisfactory progress on teacher education portfolio.
B. Student Teaching Application Request:
• A Student Teaching Application Request can be obtained from the Office of Education Student Services (205 Gooch).
• The application should be filed in 205 Gooch one (1) semester prior to the semester for student teaching experience.
• A photo must be submitted along with a completed Student Teaching Application Request to the Office of Education Student Services (205 Gooch).
C. Student Teaching Application Request Deadline Dates:
• Spring 2009: Application due Sept. 15, 2008
• Fall 2009: Application due Feb. 2, 2009

Seminars on Campus: August 21 and 22, 2008
First Placement: August 25 - October 17, 2008
Second Placement: October 20 - December 10, 2008
Student Teaching Reception: December 8, 2008

Seminars on Campus: January 8 and 9, 2009
First Placement: January 12 - March 6, 2009
Second Placement: March 9 - May 1, 2009
