ADVANCED PROGRAMS

Advanced Elementary and Advanced Secondary

  • Designed for experienced teachers who have already obtained their teaching license.
  • Total degree Hours=37

COUNSELING PROGRAMS

Community and School Counseling

  • Designed for students seeking a degree in school or community counseling
  • Total degree hours=48. Endorsement will vary based on transcript evaluation.

EDUCATIONAL ADMINISTRATION AND SUPERVISION PROGRAM

EDAS

  • Designed for veteran teachers who want to move into education administrative roles.
  • Program is offered on-line
  • Total degree hours=33. Endorsement in EDAS for licensed teachers=21

MSIL PROGRAM(Master of Science in Education, Initial Licensure)

The conceptual framework for the MSIL Program includes: a) knowledge, skills, and applications, b) reflective practice, and c) professional and ethical behavior. These underpinnings or conceptual framework are linked together by the faculty's commitment to diversity, technology, and assessment.

The program is designed for students who hold a bachelor's degree in a field other than education.

As soon as possible a student entering into any MSIL Program should have their transcript evaluated by Education Student Services. Typically, MSIL students are required to take undergraduate courses to satisfy State licensure requirements.

MSIL ELEMENTARY

  • Designed for non-education students seeking licensure in grades K-6
  • Degree Hours=43 (dependent upon transcript evaluation).

MSIL SECONDARY

  • Designed for non-education students seeking licensure in grades 7-12
  • Degree Hours=43 (dependent upon transcript evaluation).

MSIL COMPREHENSIVE

  • Designed for non-education students seeking licensure in grades K-12
  • The comprehensive endorsement applies only to physical education, art, and special education.
  • Degree hours=43 (dependent upon transcript evaluation).

SUBJECT AREA OPTION

Designed for people who want a Masters Degree and do not want to teach

  • Also designed for someone who already has a Masters Degree and wants to add on an endorsement in a specific area of emphasis.
  • Degree hours=37 (dependent upon transcript evaluation).
