General Requirements for a Bachelor's Degree
(as defined in the university catalog)

Curricular Requirements and Senior Testing

Take the Academic Profile test and a test in the student's major field. In order for the university to assess and imporve its academic programs, periodic measurements of students' intellectual growth must be obtained. As a requirement for graudation, therefore, every senior shall take a test which measures general education knowledge and skills and a test which measures achievement in his/her major field of study. Departmental faculties will identify the appropriate evaluation instrument for tests in the major field and may require minimum performance levels; otherwise, the evaluative information obtained through the testing is used solely to improve the quality of the educational expereince for future generations of students.

The Department of Health and Human Performance Exit Exam is a comprehensive exam that is derived from the Health and Human Performance core curriculum. The core curriculum consists of:

Health 351 - Substance Abuse
Human Performance 305 - Applied Kinesiology
Human Performance 315 - History and Philosophy of Health, PE, and Sport
Human Performance 415 - Professional Leadership
Human Performance 430 - Exercise Physiology

Human Performance 440 - Evaluation in Human Performance

It is strongly recommeded that all students retain the textbooks and notes from these classes to use as a basis for studying. To aid in the selection of the material to review, it is recommeded that the student review the course syllabus (links provided above) objectives. The test questions were written from the course objectives.

The test is 100 multiple choice questions. Each student will be given 2 hours to complete the exam. The exam is to be taken in the first 3-4 weeks of the internship experience. Students who achieve a 70% or better will have successfully completed the examination. Students who do not achieve 70% will be given a second opportunity to complete the exam during the last 3-4 weeks of the internship expereince. Students who do not achieve a 70% or better on the exam following a second attempt will receive an incomplete for the internship course (HPER 491) pending a passing score.
