| About Us
The Reelfoot Lake Research and Teaching Center, located in Samburg,
TN, has been in existence at its present location since the mid-1980’s. Reelfoot Lake,
the only naturally occurring lake in Tennessee, is located in the northwest corner of
the state near Samburg and Tiptonville, TN. The University of Tennessee at Martin and
other universities use the facility to conduct classes, perform research, and
strengthen K-12 science education through faculty-led workshops. As a result of these
workshops, the facility is also used for K-12 field trips. Being only a short walk
away from Reelfoot Lake, the Center and the beautiful natural setting provide a
wonderful outdoor classroom opportunity for teachers and students. |
