ASSISTANT PROFESSORS - DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY AND PHYSICS
Two tenure-track positions starting August 1, 2010 are open at the University of Tennessee at Martin. The area of specialization is open. A Ph.D. in Chemistry is required.
The successful candidates will be expected to teach both lecture and laboratory courses in general chemistry, and in the area of specialization in an ACS-approved B.S. program that has 11 faculty members. Other responsibilities include advising undergraduate students majoring in chemistry and/or interested in allied-health programs.
The positions require a strong commitment to both teaching and research at the undergraduate level. An excellent background in chemistry is expected as are outstanding English communication skills. Preference will be given to applicants who have diverse experience with modern chemical instrumentation.
