Requirements for the Major in Geology
In order to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Geoscience - Geology from UT Martin, a student must successfully complete a structured-but-flexible geoscience and general education curriculum.
- Geology 120 (Environmental Geology) - 4 credit hours - Geology 210 (Methods in Geoscience) - 2 credit hours - Geology 320 (Mineralogy) - 4 credit hours - Geology 330 (Igneous and Metamorphic Petrology) - 4 credit hours - Geology 340 (History of the Earth) - 4 credit hours - Geology 350 (Principles of Paleontology) - 4 credit hours - Geology 360 (Sedimentology) - 3 credit hours - Geology 370 (Principles of Stratigraphy) - 2 credit hours - Geology 400 (Structural Geology) - 4 credit hours - Geology 450 (Methods in Field Geology) - 3 credit hours - A minimum of seven (7) additional credit hours of upper division geology courses (electives) - The UT Martin General Education requirements - The UT Martin Bachelor of Science degree requirements
