This photograph was taken from an alley behind Sterchi’s Lofts in
This
is what dwells in the shadows of a multi-million dollar effort for
redevelopment; my view of the clean, beautiful Sterchi’s Building was
shattered when I looked beyond this wall.
The filth of graffiti and age was running rampantly through this
little alleyway as my fear of personal danger rose from only standing
momentarily within its grasp to photograph an image of disdain with some
disappointment. This
highlights gentrification in all its beauty and disgust.
The sun shines brightly for the new as its lesser surroundings
stand in darkness of shadow. |
