Dear Colleagues and Friends:
On behalf of the technical committee, I am pleased to announce the upcoming 2008 Mid-South Area Engineering & Sciences Conference (MAESC 2008), scheduled for Thursday, May 8, 2008, at the Boling University Center at the University of Tennessee at Martin. The technical committee, faculty, and students from the College of Engineering and Natural Sciences are honored to host the 10th annual conference in 2008.
The intent of this conference is to bring together scientists, engineers, and other professionals in all disciplines to share their knowledge and to discuss the current issues in science, technology, and engineering. As with previous conferences, MAESC 2008 will accept papers and presentations on many diverse technical and scientific fields. Our initial breakout will be in the three areas of Engineering, Physical Sciences, and Life Sciences, with each area being open to a wide range of topics. Papers on education and innovation are also welcome.
Additionally, we are planning three sessions for the practicing professional. There will be sessions on Engineering Ethics, Superior Performing Asphalt Pavements (SuperPave), and Design of Energy Efficient Green Buildings. These sessions provide excellent professional development opportunities for practicing professional engineers in the region.
Extended abstracts should be submitted as a Word document attached to an email to MAESC2008@utm.edu. Abstracts will be accepted through Monday, April 7, 2008.
