Pre-Chiropractic
They adjust the spinal column and other areas of the body to correct abnormalities of the human body believed to be caused by interference with the function of the nervous system. They examine patients to determine the nature of a disorder and manipulate the spine or other involved area. They may utilize supplementary measures such as exercise, rest, water, light, heat, and nutritional therapy. They diagnose health problems by reviewing patient's health and medical histories, questioning,observing and examining patients, and interpreting x-rays.
Pre-Chiropractic majors take three (3) years of basic & required courses, and then transfer to Logan 's College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield , Missouri for three (3) years to complete the Chiropractic degree. It is possible to double major at Logan by enrolling in their Masters of Sports Rehabilitative Medicine progam, which runs concurrent with the Doctor of Chiropratic. That means you can graduate with both degrees.
The US Department of Labor Occupational Outlook Handbook projects that : Employment of Chiropractors is expected to grow faster than the average forall occupations through 2012 due to consumer demand for alternative health care. Growth will also be spurred by an expanding elderly population with mechanical and structural problems.
