Check

Chancellor Tom Rakes, welcomed those in attendance at the 11th annual Memorial Day observance at UT Martin on May 27. Capt. Joseph Sanders, a UT Martin graduate student, was guest speaker, and area veterans in attendance were recognized. The UT Martin Department of Public Safety and members of the Martin Police Department honored area veterans with a gun salute. The program also was dedicated in memory of former Gov. Ned Ray McWherter, who died April 4. McWherter served 21 years in the Tennessee National Guard before retiring with the rank of captain.
