The S.K. and Shashi Airee Scholarship

$1000 is awarded to a sophomore or junior attending UT Martin and living on-campus, who has a B average or higher and is an active member of the American Chemical Society (SMACS). Dr. S.K. Airee has been at UT Martin since January 1966 and helped charter the SMACS in 1971. Under his sponsorship UTM SMACS has won more Outstanding Ratings and more mini-grants (Innovative Activities- IAGs, Community Interaction Student Affiliates -CISA, International Year of Chemistry - IYC, travel to national meetings -NMTG) from the Society Committee on Chemical Education of ACS, and more Green Chapter Awards from the ACS Green Chemistry Institute than any of the 1000+ chapters nationwide.. Mrs. Shashi Airee has retired from UT Martin after 26 years working in the housing department. Applications may be picked up in the office of the Department of Chemistry and Physics, 319 Johnson EPS Bldg. and are TBA (March 2015).

Norman and Ruby Campbell Scholarship

Awarded annually to a returning student or students, majoring in chemistry. Dr. Norman Campbell served UT Martin for many years as professor of chemistry, head of the physical sciences division, dean of instruction, and vice chancellor for academic affairs. The scholarship was established by his family to honor him and his wife, Ruby. The recipient(s) is selected by the chemistry faculty of the Department of Chemistry and Physics. Applications are being accepted in Department of Chemistry and Physics office, 319 EPS, until TBA (February 2015).

The David S. Loebbaka Award

$150 is awarded to the outstanding astronomy or physics student. The award recognizes Dr. Loebbaka's many contributions to the department and the university. To be eligible a student must have been enrolled in a physics or astronomy course during the fall semester of the year in which the award is presented. The physics faculty selects the recipient based on academic achievement.

Outstanding Chemistry Major Award

A cash amount given to an outstanding senior chemistry major(s). The selection is made by the chemistry faculty of the Department of Chemistry and Physics.

Lower Division Chemistry Award

Given to an outstanding student(s) in general chemistry. The award is a cash amount and a copy of the Handbook of Chemistry and Physics. The selection is made by the chemistry faculty of the Department of Chemistry and Physics.

College of Engineering and Natural Sciences Outstanding Chemistry Student

Given to a student chosen by the chemistry faculty.

College of Engineering and Natural Sciences Outstanding Astronomy/Physics Student

Given to a student chosen by the physics faculty.

Roseman Family Scholarship

$1200 is given to a freshman from West Tennessee that is a pre-med major within the Department of Chemistry and Physics.

Undergraduate Teaching Assistants for General Chemistry
