Basic Digital Photography
Dates: Tuesdays, February 19-March 19 or Tuesdays, May 14-June 4

Times: 6:00-9:00PM

Basic Digital Photography will allow you to make the most of your digital camera operations and use its advantages to improve your photographic skills. Whether you want to take better family snapshots or use professional techniques for maximum image creativity, this class starts you on your way to being a confident photographer. Course includes: Camera Features and Functions; Exposure; Composure; Depth of Field; Focus; Photography Ideas and Exercises in Lighting; Portrait; Landscape; Action and Close-up Shots. You will need your camera, operations manual and a tripod. Printed and e-mail handouts will be available. E-mail and class evaluations of student images will be utilized.



Advanced Digital Photography
Dates: Tuesdays, June 18-July 16

Times: 6:00-9:00PM

This course is designed to follow-up the Basic Digital Photography course but is open to anyone familiar with digital camera operations and basic photography skills. The advanced camera skills of DSLR and other digital cameras will be discussed. Creative imaging techniques in landscape, wildlife, portrait and close-up photography will be practiced and critiqued. Exercises in low-light and night-time photography will be held.Personal digital cameras, operations manuals and a tripod are required. This class will include classroom and field experiences depending on the weather. As extra optional day field trip on a weekend will be offered. Internet and e-mail evaluations and critiques of student images will be utilized.



About Roger Hughes...

Mr. Hughes is a retired Special Agent in Charge of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Mr. Hughes is a 30 year veteran criminal investigator of the TBI's Criminal and Drug Investigation Divisions. After years of photographing major crime scene, evidence, and surveillance targets, he began studying fine art imaging at theUniversity of Tennessee Rocky Mountain School of Photography and under the mentorship of three acclaimed wildlife and nature photographers.
