Beads, Beads, & MORE Beads! - Diana Ferguson

Let your creativity shine in this fun crafty beading adventure! If you love to wear oir give jewelry, then this is the class for you! You will learn various beading techniques to create beautiful beaded items including jewelry, key chains, hair accessories and more! Fees will be used to purchase an assortment of beads as well as supplies for students to make their very own beads. ($5)

 

Fun on the Farm - Jana Young

Do you like animals? Do you like growing plants? Farming is a fun way to learn about plants and animals. Through hands-on farm activities you have fun while learning about the characteristics of different animals, plants, and their importance to people. You will also learn to respect plants, animals and the land. Wear shoes that cover the toe as you will meet some farm animal friends. ($3)

 

Rock On Junior!!! - Justin Bell

Have you ever considered learning how to play a drum set? Then look no further. This class is a beginning drum set class in which you will learn how to play many different drum set beats by the end of the week! You will learn about rhythm and how the drum set is used. We will perform many various styles of music. ($5)

It's a Cheer Thing - Katie Maupin

Go! Fight! Win! Come join us for a cheer-tasticly awesome time! You will learn sideline cheers and chants, as well as a dance routine from a Henry County High School Cheerleader. You will also learn to make correct motions and some basic jumps. You will have fun and learn exciting new things about cheerleading! Come be a part of our own little cheer camp, complete with an awards day at the end of the week.

If you are interested in being a cheerleader, then you don't want to miss this class! This class requires shorts (no skirts or dresses) and sneakers.

 

Jr. Space Camp: The ISS Mission - Diane Bell and Heather Bell

Do you ever dream about being an Astronaut and flying into space when you grow up? Well, welcome to the class where you will get to train like real NASA Astronauts! First, you meet your crew and train for your mission to the International Space Station (ISS). Learning how to sleep, eat, and work in space are just some of the activities that we will cover as we prepare for our simulated "flight." Working in Mission Control and conducting experiments on the Space Station will also be a part of your experience in Jr. Space Camp! Some highlights of this class include tasting Astronaut Food, EVA (Spacewalking) simulations and holding REAL moon rocks and soil samples brought back from the moon by our Apollo Astronauts. ($12)

 

Superb Storybooks - Diana Ferguson

If you love a good book, be sure you join in sharing superb stories! Spend time reading and listening to classic favorites and award winning storybooks each day. Create crafts based on the story, have a story snack time, and sing fun songs that relate to the story of the day. Let's go on a story adventure! ($3)

Science Sleuths - Diane and Heather Bell

Who says science can't be fun and exciting? Everything we come in contact with everyday is in some way Science related...erupting volcanoes, fossils in rocks and light from the sun are all examples of our everyday Science! Do you wonder how a compass can be made, or radiation is found, or how a lava lamp works? Come on and let's explore science together and find out! This is going to be a hands on class and one example of our activities will be making our own slime (very fun and SUPER gross)! We will also make our own fossils and maybe even search for meteorites. Note: please bring an old shirt with your name inside to cover up your good clothes. ($12)

 

Take a Walk on the Color Side - Josh Greer

Take a walk on the color side! Join me for a fun adventure through the world of ART! You will have the opportunity to imagine and create wonderful pieces of art that we will display during our own art show! ($5)

 

Tumble Bugs - Breanna Maupin

You'll FLIP for this class! In Tumble Bugs, you will learn fundamentals for beginning gymnastic skills. You will learn stunts on mats and gymnastic equipment, as well as learn a fun way to stay healthy and fit. You will also play games that incorporate gymnastics.

If you like to exercise, move and be active, this is the class for you! Come join us for some acrobatic fun! For this class, you will need to wear shorts (no skirts or dresses) and sneakers.

Hut Hut Hut Football - Josh Greer

The Hut Hut Hut Football class will introduce you to the wonderful sport of football. We'll "run wild" and learn the basic fundamentals of flag football. You will also create a personalized sports bottle to use at home or school. ($5)

 

Music from Around the World - Justin Bell

You will listen to, learn and sing/play music from various parts of the world. Each day will be a featured culture. You will also complete crafts that are connected to that culture. These crafts will be taken home as a reminder of the many different cultures that create our world. ($5)

 

The Science of Cooking - Jana Young

Would you like to learn to cook kid friendly foods? Learn math and science through the joys of cooking. We will make a new recipe that will be easy to make again at home for your friends and family. We cook new recipes every year. Bring a shirt or apron to protect clothing from kitchen spills and be prepared for a yummy treat. ($10)

Recorder Karate - Justin Bell

In this class, you will learn how to play the woodwind instrument, the recorder. You will earn various colored "belts" based on your ability to play different pieces of music that range from easier tunes to harder ones. You will receive your recorder , case, cleaning rod, music and "belts." You will keep you recorders and belts to continue to grow in your musical skills. This is an excellent opportunity to have a lot of fun while learning a musical instrument ($3).

 

Space Race - Diane and Heather Bell

How exciting to have the opportunity to be one of the FIRST future astronauts to participate in the Space Race! You will be able to learn all about Space and Astronomy with fun and exciting games, taking learning to an entire new level. Each day, different space or astronomy information will be discussed and a game will be played to re-enforce this new knowledge with your astronaut team! How does Space Bingo, Home on the Moon, Star Relay, or Too Many Martians sound? There will be one team chosen each day as the NASA  Team of the Day, but the other teams will receive alternate prizes...everyone is a winner in the Space Race!

 

Teaming up for Team Sports - Josh Greer

Meet the world of team sports. We will focus on building physical, mental, and communication skills while staying active. You will get a personalized water bottle to use during and after camp. ($5)

Jr. Patriot Football Camp- Josh Greer

The Junior Patriot Football Camp will teach your child about the basic fundamentals of football. Your child will have the opportunity to "train like the Patriots." Every student will receive Patriot Gear.

This gear will include a Junior Patriot Football Camp Water bottle and photo. ($6)

 

Sr. Space Camp:  The ISS Mission - Diane Bell and Heather Baker

If you have ever wanted to be an astronaut or dreamed about going into space, then this is the perfect class for you! We will train like NASA Astronauts, teaching teamwork skills and building personal confidence! After astronaut training is complete, you will "fly" with your crew on a simulated mission to the International Space Station! You will also sit at Mission Control and direct others as they attempt docking with the ISS! You will find out how astronauts eat, sleep, and work in space, and you'll even get to sample some tasty Astronaut food! EVA training, problem solving, and exciting (maybe messy?) experiments will all be a part of the exciting class! ($12)

Pump that crowd spirit up! In this cheer-fabulous class, you will learn sideline chants and cheers as well as a dance routine from a Henry County High School Cheerleader. You can defy gravity in this fun, beginning gymnastic class! You will learn skills that will put you on the right track to being a gymnast.

You will learn stunts on mats and gymnastic equipment, as well as learn a fantastic way to exercise. If you like to be active, this is the class for you! Don't be "up in the air" about this one. Come join the fun! For this class, you will need to wear shorts (no skirts or

dresses) and sneakers.

 

Intro to Scrapbooking - Diana Ferguson

Use your imagination and creativity to design a new treasure. Using acid-free, photo safe supplies, colored paper, pens, stickers, stamps, and more, you will put together your very own scrapbook! Layout techniques, photo cropping, and how to journal will be covered in this class. Every child needs to bring 10 - 15 photos to be used in the scrapbook. Fees for this class will purchase each child their very own scrapbook and supplies for the week plus a kit to use at home! ($15)

 

Ultimate Space Academy - Diane Bell and Heather Baker

The ultimate space competition is finally here! You must work together with your astronaut academy team to achieve the goal of EXTREME SPACE CHAMPION! Each day we will learn something new about space, space travel, astronomy, or astronauts, followed by a challenge to re-enforce the new information. The challenge may be a mental challenge or it could be a physical one, but either way we are having fun! Some of our games will include Space Bingo, Astronomy Matching, Star Relay or Travel Agent to the Planets! Don't miss your chance to be the Ultimate Space Academy Champion! ($12)

Do you enjoy being in the spotlight? If so, you should explore the basic skills and techniques of acting! At the end of the week, you will star in a play and display your talents in this final production. ($3)

 

Mad Science - Jana Young

The wild world of science has many exciting interactions. You will learn aspects of chemistry and physics through hands-on experiments. Every year brings new science experiments. This year you will make glow in the dark lanterns with a chemical reaction, learn physics by designing and racing self propelled Lego cars, learn how to walk on eggs, and build your own rocket. Bring a shirt or an apron to protect clothing as some of our experiments may get messy. ($10)
