Learn how to successfully search for your family’s roots. Classes will begin with a basic intro to genealogy research and will include a variety of print and electronic sources, DNA in genealogy, and a “field trip” to the Henry County Library and Henry County Archives. Some “how to’s” (and how NOT to’s) on recording your information will be covered including documentation, various types of charts and genealogy software programs, and some brief information on working with digital images and posting on the Internet.
Mary Ann has a Masters degree in education from UT Martin and has been actively working in genealogy for over 40 years. In addition to practical experience, she has been to a variety of workshops and has taught genealogy classes to her students during her 28 years of teaching at E. W. Grove School in Paris. Her love of history and mystery come together in genealogy and she enjoys nothing better than leading others to discover the same thrill she gets every time she adds another piece to a family puzzle.
