Digital Photography Part I- Basic Digital Camera Operation

When you purchase a new digital camera, it usually comes with an instruction manual that most owners cannot understand. In this introductory course you will learn to take control of your digital camera through clear and concise explanations. In the process you will learn what the manuals do not teach you - how to take good pictures. You will learn how to take those shots that you never before knew how to get and, in the process, you will come to understand how simple it really is. Learn what all your dials and buttons are for and how to take the best pictures of your life…a two for one value. You may never use the “Auto” button again! Bring your camera (big or little) and your associated manual to class for reference. Invite a friend to come with you and work together.

Date: Mondays, March 6, 13, and 20, 2017

Time: 6:30-9:00PM

Instructor: Dr. Tom Gallien

Digital Photography Part II- Advanced Fundamentals of Composition

If you have taken Photo I or are an experienced photographer who knows how to take pictures in aperture, shutter, or manual modes, you will appreciate this newly-designed information-packed course that will open a wider understanding of advanced composition and exposure. We go beyond basics to teach you how to get the “Wow” shots that become wall-hangers. Learn the concepts that the pros use to achieve the most creative and eye-catching shots. We will be looking at the use of different lenses and filters as well as how to use critical focus techniques and the camera’s histogram to come away with sharper, clearer pictures. You are guaranteed to come away from this course with a greater understanding of successful photography.

This is the most fun you can have with a camera.
