Debbie joined UT Martin's Office of Educational Outreach in 1992. She is currently the Director of Non-Degree Programs which includes professional development training, person enrichment programs, test and academic success preparation, camps, youth programs, and employee training. Not only has Debbie seen the Office of Educational Outreach evolve over the years, her career has progressed as well. In 1992, she began as the Principal Secretary and in 1997 became the Administrative Services Assistant before being awarded the position of Director of Non-Degree Programs in 2000. Prior to working with Education Outreach, Debbie spend 7 years in the Admissions Office as the Principal Secretary. She is also the Gooch Hall Building Manager.


Debbie has applied for and been awarded numerous grants: Memphis Police Department, Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant, American Recovered and Reinvestment Act Grant, three Job Training Partnership Grants, two Homeland Security Training Symposiums for Governor's Office of Homeland Security, UT Department of Health and Human Services TITAN I, US Department of Housing and Urban Development, and Library Services and Technology Act Grant. Debbie has professional memberships with the Tennessee Alliance of Continuing Higher Education (T ACHE), Learning Resources Network (LERN) and Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society.


She has served on numerous professional committees including Beth Maloan Outstanding Student Employee Award Committee; Physical Plan Equity Subcommittee; Camps on Campus; Training and Communications Task Force for UT System; Tennessee Alliance for Continuing Education Ad-Hoc Partnership Committee; Captain, UT Family Campaign; and University Committee for the Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police (TACP).


Debbie's two degrees are from UT Martin. She has a Master in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Both degrees were earned while working full time.
