As our population becomes more diverse, our classrooms present new challenges, including working with learners whose primary language is not English. Our 9 hour, 100% online course of study for the endorsement is designed to empower teachers to work effectively with all students.


The courses are:


TESL 700 Principles of Teaching English as a Second Language Fall only
TESL 710 Strategies for Teaching English as a Second Language Spring only
EDFN 720 Multicultural Issues in Education and Counseling Fall, Spring or Summer


*To be eligible for the English as a Second Language PreK-12 endorsement, students must hold a current teaching license in PreK-3, K-6, 7-12, or SPED-Modified K-12, and pass the "English to Speakers of Other Languages" Praxis exam.
