Job Embedded Practitioner License

We do offer two programs for the state education licensure: Master's in Initial Licensure and the Job Embedded Practitioner's Licensure program (non degree track).

In order to qualify for the Job-Embedded program you will need to have the following:
1.      Currently working for or have a letter of intent to hire from a TN Public school
2.      2.75 GPA
3.      Have passed the Praxis II content exam in the specific area that you have been hired on to teach.

If you do not meet these requirements, then you are a candidate for our Initial Licensure program. The initial licensure program is a full licensure program and it is 30% on campus and 70% online. To know what classes are required you can scroll to the bottom of this page, and choose the link for "Program Checksheets." After you are admitted, you will be assigned a faculty advisor, who will assist you as you go through the program. You can transfer up to 12 graduate level credit hours that were not previously used towards another advanced degree.

To be accepted to the Graduate Program, you must have:
1.      an undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.5 to be admitted as unclassified or conditional, or a GPA of at least 2.7 to be admitted as unconditional status.
2.      Passing GRE scores - You must have a GRE combined verbal plus quantitative score of 285 and a writing score of at least 3.5 to be admitted. You can be admitted for one semester and take a maximum of two classes without the GRE. You must also submit a background check. For more information about the GRE, go to www.ets.org and choose the link for GRE. *** The GRE scores will only be waived if you already possess a graduate degree, master’s or higher.
