Dr. Hewitt is a science and environmental educator with experience in public schools and at the university level. She received her doctorate in science education from Indiana University, her masters in elementary/science education from Western Illinois University and bachelor's in elementary education from Indiana University. She has been at UTM for 14 years and has taught a variety of courses. Currently she is teaching three undergraduate courses plus two online graduate courses for Tennessee's Transition to Teaching grant for math and science teachers.
