The English Legal Studies 3 + 3 Program

The 3 + 3 program in legal studies is designed for qualifying students to transfer to the UT College of Law and finish their BA degree while beginning their law degree. If students fail to qualify for early admission to UTCL they will still have the opportunity to finish their degree and apply for regular admission into law school.

The 3 + 3 program is designed to give university students an understanding of (1) the structure and processes of the American legal system and (2) how these processes affect society as a whole, while providing a quicker path into law school and a legal career.

Students in the program will work toward the BA degree program in English, with a minor in legal studies. During their first 3 years at UT Martin they will complete their general education requirements for the BA, their requirements for the legal studies minor, and at least 12 upper-division (300-400 level) hours within the English.
