Security Awareness Training

In a continuing effort to improve network and information security and educate all users on their role in securing UT Martin's information technology assets, all UT Martin faculty, staff and retirees with access to email and other UTM information technology resources are required to complete an online Information Security Awareness training course.

You will be required to pass the quiz and acknowledge that you have completed and understood the training provided. (Please complete the course before taking the quiz.) Failure to satisfactorily complete this course may result in the suspension of access to UT Martin network resources including email, Banner, Blackboard and other vital systems.

FERPA-Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act - 1974

FERPA is Highly Recommended for employees to complete. FERPA gives parents certain rights with respect to their children's educational records. These rights transfer to the student when he or she reaches the age of 18 or attends a school beyond the high school level. Students to whom the rights have transferred are "eligible students."

Emergency Management Training

The ability to respond to man-made and natural emergencies in an effective and efficient manner has become a top priority of the University of Tennessee. One step toward this goal is a training initiative to educate and prepare faculty and staff members in the proactive and reactive steps to take if and when such an emergency occurs.

If you have any questions about any of the trainings, please contact Lori Beth Wilson at lwilso33@utm.edu or 731-881-7940
