The mission of the educator preparation program at the University of Tennessee at Martin is to prepare educators in initial and advanced programs as facilitators of active learning for P-12 learners in diverse and inclusive communities. UT Martin's educator preparation program is approved by the Tennessee State Board of Education and accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).

NEW for fall! Beginning fall 2016 Classroom Organization and Management Program (COMP) is a required part of the student teaching.
Effective Fall 2015, students must pass ALL Praxis exams required for licensure prior to being admitted to student teaching. For additional information, contact the Office of Educator Preparation Program located in 205 Gooch Hall.
NOTE: If you are in HLRN 311, HLRN 325 or SPED 300 and are NOT an education major, you are not required to purchase LIVETEXT. You MUST complete this wavier form.

Deadline for 2017 fall student teaching and counseling internship applications is February 15, 2017.

The request for deadline extension has been developed for students who have registered or taken the required Praxis exams but cannot provide a passing score within the timeframe required. This form must be completed and submitted no later than the stated deadline for score receipt (last day of the semester before student teaching begins). Students must complete the form on-line, sign, and submit to the Coordinator of Field Placements, 205A Gooch Hall by deadline.
