Admission Requirements

Admission to Teacher Education and Student Teaching Flowchart

 

Admission to Teacher Education will be granted if students:

  • Take and pass the state-approved Core Academic Skills for Educators (CORE), or have an ACT composite score of 22 or better. Note: A student who has taken and failed the CORE twice can make an appeal to be admitted to the Teacher Education Program.
  • Have and maintain a cumulative 2.75 GPA
  • Demonstrate an acceptable level of oral skills and a successful interview before the College of Education, Health and Behavioral Sciences Interview Board.
  • Submit to and successfully pass a criminal history background check.
