Education Student Services – Application Information

Application for student teaching must be filed with the Office of Education Student Services one semester prior to the student teaching semester.  If the deadline falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the application will be due the following Monday.  Permanent deadlines for student teaching applications are:

September 15 for the following Spring Semester

January 30 for the following Fall Semester
 

• Spring 2013 Student Teaching/ Counseling Internship Applications due September 15, 2012

• Fall 2013 Student Teaching/Counseling Internship Applications due January 30, 2013

To begin the student teaching application process, please follow the steps below.

Step 1:

Click to complete the “Autobiographical Data Form.”  The form must be typed and you must attach 4 copies of the form to the student teaching application for your major.

Step 2:

Click to Complete “Part I-Submit On-line.”  Part I should be typed, printed, and submitted online.  The printed copy must be included with the student teaching application for your major.

Step 3:   

Choose the appropriate student teaching application for your major.  A list of majors is provided below.  Click on your major.  Complete Part II.  Print.  Read and sign the instruction page.  Your faculty advisor must fill out and sign Part III.

Step 4:

Submit to the Office of Education Student Services, 205 Gooch Hall:
Your photo (1 copy)
4 copies of your typed “Autobiographical Data Form”
Your completed student teaching application for your major with your advisor’s signature and Part II that was submitted online.

NOTE:  Your application will not be considered COMPLETE until the on-line process AND required hard copy documents are received in the Office of Education Student Services.

DEADLINE: January 30, 2013 
Strict placement request deadlines prohibit late application submissions.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
The Coordinator of Field Services, Ms. Staci Fuqua, is the only person who should contact a school or central office regarding placements.  Students WILL NOT attempt to contact schools under any circumstances.  All students will be notified once placements have been secured.  If you have questions, please contact Ms. Fuqua, 731-881-7215 or sfuqua@utm.edu.
